A busy family acquired a charming Victorian duplex. The main objective was to embrace the Englishness of the property. We dug deep into the British aesthetic to create a snug with a pair of antique leather Chesterfield tub chairs. What baronial slice would be complete without a half-suit of 17th century armour purchased at Sotheby’s?
A collection of etchings and bronze horse by British artist, Bridget Tempest, were sourced and scattered throughout along with a portrait commissioned from Astor Guinness.
Restored Japanese Tansu raised off the floor with custom steel legs.
Another task was to update their son’s room, with his input, from a child’s playroom to a young gentleman’s homework and music oasis. With a historic overview of furniture and photo examples to guide him, the young man discovered a love for mid-century design.
We acquired and restored a unique pair of ’50’s desk lamps and added a white leather Barcelona chair and ottoman.
The design of a custom loft bed allowed for room below to socialise and the finishing touch was his choice of Farrow & Ball’s Enigma wallpaper.
With a lovely view of the garden below, the second floor bedroom springs to life with Chinoiserie Panorama wallpaper by Zardi & Zardi.
